Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our law firm. Duties
- Use QuickBooks Pro Plus 2024.
- Manage the full cycle of bookkeeping activities, including payroll processing and bank reconciliations, depositories, and quarterly payroll tax.
- Pay all bills that come into the office as well as prepare all deposits that will be made.
- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all journal entries are accurately recorded in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Estimated taxes, quarterlies, monthly bank reconciliations, monthly review of general ledger.
- Keeping track of insurance policies and expiration dates.
- Annual Workers' Compensation Insurance Audit.
- Annual dues for BAR Association.
- Keeping track of and ensuring CLE credits are up to date and completed every year.
- File and pay any tax, registrations, etc.
- Prepare 1099, W-2, and any other documentation needed.
- Create settlement statements for clients.
- Order office supplies when needed, including water delievery.
- Be responsible for scanning in all documentation, such as bills, payments, deposits, etc., and correctly maintaining an organized computer file system for all documents, as well as correctly maintaining all documentation in a paper file system, as to ensure all records are maintained.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with a strong background in accounting practices.
- Prior experience working in a law firm or legal environment is preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, Kronos or comparable platforms.
- Familiarity with financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Experience working within GAAP standards and governmental accounting regulations is highly desirable.
- Strong numeracy skills combined with excellent attention to detail for data entry and account analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to manage accounts payable/receivable processes efficiently while maintaining accuracy.
