Description: We are looking for a fabrication press brake operator for our busy HVAC company. This position is operating a fabrication press brake machine, CNC machine and more to produce a variety of parts which must meet dimensional specification of mechanical engineering drawings.
Schedule
- Swing: 3:15pm-1:45am Mon-Thurs (plus 10% differential pay)
Responsibilities
- Operate press brake and other CNC machinery in the fabrication department.
- Input and adjust data using CNC controller.
- Adjust ram and back gauge per process control instructions and drawings.
- Perform advanced programming on the press brake.
- Program CNC to produce new parts to specifications.
- Conduct operator-level maintenance.
- Read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings.
- Select appropriate punches and dies based on material type and thickness.
- Set up tooling, load programs, and configure machine parameters.
- Maintain high quality standards with attention to detail.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company rules, policies, and safety standards.
- Work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision, independently or as part of a team.
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist where needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Strong math skills, including fractions and decimal conversion.
- Ability to read and use calipers and tape measures.
- Experience operating press brake machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with sheet metal types (Galvanized, Stainless Steel, Aluminum.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD a plus.
Minimum Requirements:
- Able to read a tape measure (testing required).
- Willingness and availability to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Strong attendance record and reliable transportation.
- Must pass pre-employment, post-accident, and random drug screenings.
