Job Title: Tinting Specialist – Custom Color Matching (Paint & Plaster)
Job location: San Francisco, CA
Compensation: $70,720.00 – $79,040.00 annually, DOE + benefits
Hours of work and days: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Work Location: This is a full-time, in-person position at our San Francisco location with an 8:30 a.m. start. Candidates should be based in San Francisco or have a reliable commute that allows for consistent, on-time attendance.

This position is based at Color Atelier’s flagship showroom in the heart of the vibrant Mission District, steps from BART, Muni, shops, and restaurants. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Custom color-match customer samples with a high level of accuracy.
- Tint and prepare lime paints, plasters, primers, and specialty finishes according to production specifications.
- Maintain consistency and quality across all batches.
- Prioritize and complete orders efficiently to meet production deadlines.
- Communicate with the Production Manager regarding custom color requests and production schedules.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe tinting workspace.
- Monitor inventory of pigments, tinting supplies, and materials.
- Perform quality control checks before products are packaged and shipped.
- Continuously improve workflow and identify opportunities to increase efficiency.
- Crosstrain and assist in other departments as needed to support production and warehouse operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with custom color-matching (paint, coatings, plaster, or related products preferred).
- Strong understanding of color theory and attention to detail.
- Ability to accurately distinguish colors and subtle color variations (normal color vision required).
- Comfortable working with both manual and computerized tinting systems.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced production environment.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Spanish-speaking is a plus.
