PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for verifying and maintaining records on incoming and outgoing shipments involving inventory. Duties include verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material. May prepare items for shipment. Additionally, the Warehouse Assistant will be responsible for receiving, unloading, sorting, and staging of pallets for production, and manage pallet inventory levels for production.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITY:

Assist in performing the receiving operation in a consistent manner as instructed in the training program

Responsible to maintain the procedures concerning operation unless the training program is changed and properly recorded concerning procedure

Load and unload all trailers and containers, seeing that they are first properly locked and chocked

Unload pallets from inbound vendor trailers, ensure receiving paperwork is correct, and free of errors
-
Sort pallets for compliance within SCT expectations, inspect each pallet for AIB compliance, rejecting/isolating pallets that do not meet the requirements

Label all pallets free from error with LPN unique identifier

Manage inventory of rejected pallets, odds, and cores

Identify when a load of rejected pallets need to be returned to the vendor

Adjust to and follow new procedures and innovations, which would add to the efficiency and safety of the operation

Assist at each physical inventory if needed

Communicate using email and phone calls with fellow SCT team members

Unload all deliveries or shipments from outside vendors
-
Inspect quality, quantity, and condition of all shipments, and record on paperwork
-
Keep the work area clean and orderly, including articles that fall outside in the daily loading and unloading
-
Adjust to and follow new procedures and innovations, which would add to the efficiency and safety of the operation

Perform daily forklift checklist and routine maintenance on equipment including cleaning equipment

Maintain order in the warehouse storage areas in the performance of your duties

Be a Certified Forklift operator, and carry a copy of your certification with you
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have basic computer skills and possess ability to utilize software.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must have the ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English. Must be able to understand and speak clearly, communicate, and understand directions in English as needed.
