We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Front Office Receptionist to join our ambulatory surgical center team. Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing outstanding customer service while managing check-in and check-out procedures
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes
- Collect and process payments, including medical collections and billing information, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls efficiently and taking detailed messages when necessary
- Maintain organized medical records and ensure proper documentation review in accordance with health information management standards
- Support clinical staff with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and updating patient care plans
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment, preferably within an ambulatory surgical center
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle phone calls professionally and provide exceptional patient service
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and basic computer skills for data entry and documentation management
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards, and medical billing practices
- Ability to verify insurance coverage accurately and perform insurance verification procedures efficiently
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, documentation review, and office management tasks
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and privacy at all times
