Overview
We are seeking two dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. Approximately 30 hours per week. One position 8am-3pm and one position 3pm - 7pm. Must be able to work weekends and holidays. Must be over 18 years of age.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care for animals in our facility, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess strong skills in handling and training dogs. This position requires a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized environment while delivering excellent customer service to pet owners.
Primary Duties
1. Ensure rooms are properly set-up and cleaned for scheduled arrivals for current and next day.
2. Coordinate lodging dog check-in to ensure completion of physical check and check of personal property.
3. Ensure reports are up to date and personal property is ready for client pick at departure.
4. Provide potty breaks and meals for lodging dogs as assigned. Review special needs list and manage dogs as instructed.
5. Maintain each pet’s room to ensure that the dog has water and the room is clean and dry.
6. Perform lodging dog exercise sessions and/or enrichment activities as assigned or requested
7. If playgroup requested, interact with dogs using appropriate toys and tools to ensure safe levels of play and minimizing stress levels of all dogs in playgroup. Maintain visual observation of dogs at all times and spread attention and play among all dogs in playgroup.
8. Control level of play by following dog management and control procedures and instructions provided by Pet Care Coordinator.
9. Complete cleaning duties as assigned.
10. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Experience & Skills Requirements
1. Previous experience providing animal care is required
2. Ability to follow instructions
3. Ability to work in a team environment
4. Excellent oral and written communication skills
5. Computer Skills
6. Must be able to lift 30-40 pounds and stand for long periods of time
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
