Elementary Physical Education Teacher
Position Overview
Monroe Public Schools is seeking a passionate and energetic Elementary Physical Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire and engage students through physical education, promoting healthy habits, physical fitness, teamwork, and a lifelong appreciation for wellness and active living in a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
This position may serve students in a variety of instructional settings. Final building and assignment placement will be determined in August based on district needs and enrollment. Placement may include assignment to a parochial school partner location served by Monroe Public Schools.
COMPENSATION
Per Teacher Master Agreement

Basic Qualifications

Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with the appropriate and required endorsements.

Must meet Highly Qualified requirements.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and successfully with parents/guardians to support student growth.

Willingness to commit to ongoing professional development to enhance instructional practices and student learning.

Responsibilities Include

Develop and deliver a comprehensive physical education curriculum aligned with state standards.

Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages participation, teamwork, and personal growth.

Teach students fundamental physical education concepts, movement skills, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyle practices.

Plan and implement activities that support physical fitness, motor skill development, and overall student well-being.

Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback to students and families.

Collaborate with staff, parents/guardians, and administration to support student success.

Participate in professional development opportunities and school-wide activities.

Maintain flexibility to support assigned instructional locations and district programming needs.

Promote student safety and maintain appropriate supervision during all instructional activities.
