General Manager
The General Manager oversees the daily operations of the diesel repair shop and field work, ensuring high-quality service, efficient workflow, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This role manages technicians, service advisors, and administrative staff while maintaining safety standards, controlling costs, and driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all day-to-day shop/ field operations and ensure efficient scheduling of repairs and maintenance.
- Supervise and support diesel technicians, service writers, and office personnel.
- Monitor productivity, labor efficiency, and shop performance metrics.
- Ensure repairs meet company quality standards and customer expectations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, fleet accounts, and vendors.
- Oversee inventory management, parts ordering, and equipment maintenance.
- Prepare and manage budgets, financial reports, and operating expenses.
- Hire, train, coach, and evaluate employees to build a high-performing team.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental standards, and company safety policies.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.
- Implement strategies to improve profitability, efficiency, and customer retention.
- Coordinate with owners or executive leadership on business planning and operational goals.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of management experience in diesel repair, heavy equipment, fleet maintenance, or automotive service.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, diagnostics, and repair operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with shop management software and estimating systems.
- Ability to analyze financial reports, budgets, and key performance indicators.
- Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
