As a Senior Proposal Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in developing innovative technical solutions for some of the world’s leading manufacturers. Working closely with Sales, Engineering, and Project Management, you’ll help shape complex automation projects from concept through proposal, making a direct impact on Dürr’s continued growth.
What You’ll Do
- Develop technical and commercial solutions for automated coating and dispensing projects by interpreting customer requirements and engineering specifications.
- Review customer RFQs, specifications, and drawings to develop accurate technical proposals and project estimates.
- Prepare proposal packages, including technical documentation, cost estimates, project schedules, and supporting engineering information.
- Develop Level 1 project schedules and manpower estimates to support proposal development.
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Project Management, and subcontractors to develop complete proposal solutions.
- Prepare technical clarifications and participate in customer meetings throughout the proposal process.
- Develop scopes of work for subcontractors and support contractor bid evaluations.
- Participate in customer site visits and project walkthroughs as needed to validate project scope and estimate accuracy.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance proposal quality, accuracy, and competitiveness.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred, or equivalent experience in proposal engineering, application engineering, estimating, industrial automation, or systems engineering.
- Experience supporting automated manufacturing, coating, dispensing, robotics, or industrial automation projects.
- Ability to interpret customer specifications and translate technical requirements into practical proposal solutions.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems used in industrial manufacturing.
- Experience preparing technical proposals, project estimates, and engineering documentation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project; AutoCAD experience is a plus.
- SAP experience and automotive industry experience are preferred.
