JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a compassionate and responsible lead teacher to join our team and provide excellent care and supervision to children in our childcare center! The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for children, possess strong communication skills, and be committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment for young learners to thrive.
*Positions available in our infant, older and younger toddler, preschool and pre-K classrooms!
*Fluidity and flexibility between rooms is highly encouraged
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities, including lesson plans, games, crafts, and indoor/outdoor play.
· Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy education, math, and early childhood development principles.
· Collaborate with other staff members to plan and implement educational and recreational programs and lesson planning and prepping.
· Assist in creating individualized learning experiences for children with diverse needs, including those with autism or disabilities.
· Maintain a safe and clean environment by regularly sanitizing toys, equipment, and play areas. Participate in designated chores within the center.
· Follow established routines and schedules for meals, naps, and activities.
· Monitor children's behavior and intervene when necessary to promote positive interactions and conflict resolution.
· Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding their child's daily activities, behavior, and any concerns.
· Assist with diapering, feeding, and other basic care tasks as needed.
· Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in childcare best practices and abide by state regulations.
· Adhere to policies and procedures, including safety protocols and emergency procedures.
· Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information about children and families.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field
· Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 2 years of experience with children
· Prior experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or similar setting is desirable.
· Demonstrated ability to interact positively with children and build rapport with families.
· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with children, parents, and coworkers.
· Patience, flexibility, and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
· Basic understanding of child development principles and age-appropriate activities.
· Ability to lift and carry children, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods
· PQAS Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification
· Clearances and trainings (given at time of hire)
