American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant with an active Alaska license and a minimum of 1 year of experience for a 26-week travel assignment in a remote rehabilitation setting with housing and airfare reimbursement provided.

Day shift position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

26-week contract assignment

Patient population includes infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients

Role is supervised by a licensed Physical Therapist

Position is located in a remote area of Alaska

Active Alaska PTA license required (license required if applicable); candidates who have completed all appropriate FSBPT paperwork to work as a Student PTA post-graduation while awaiting licensure exam results may also be considered

Graduation from a CAPTE-accredited physical therapy assistant education program required (typically a 2-year degree)

Current BLS certification required

DOB and SSN required for consideration

Administer physical therapy treatments and modalities as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist following patient evaluation

Assist patients in restoring function and maximizing performance following injury, disease, or physical disability

Participates in performance improvement activities, infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational training, and fire safety programs

Orientation takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday

Hospital-provided housing is available and highly recommended given the remote location; shared units with private bedrooms and shared common spaces — male or female units only, no dogs allowed; travelers coordinate directly with the facility

Round-trip airfare reimbursement is available; economy-class flights only, and detailed flight and luggage receipts must be submitted to American Traveler for reimbursement

Flight itinerary must be provided one week prior to the start date; the facility will assist with airport pickup upon arrival but does not provide return transportation at assignment end

Competency documentation is required upon arrival, covering areas such as IV/central line site care, fall precautions, age-specific care, abuse/neglect, pain management, blood transfusions, and BLS (BLS must remain current for the full duration of the assignment)

Candidates must be prepared to complete a medication calculation math test (adult and pediatric) upon arrival before beginning work
