The Customer Service Associate is the face of our bakery (Great Harvest Bread Co of Charlotte), providing exceptional service while creating a welcoming environment. This role sells fresh breads and sweets using a POS and cash drawer system, bakes cookies each morning, prepares sandwiches, maintains attractive product displays, and keeps the bakery clean and inviting. A positive attitude, teamwork, and genuine friendliness are essential. We have four locations in Piper Glen, Matthews, Kings Court and Mallard Creek areas.
Responsibilities
· Provide outstanding customer service and build relationships with guests.
· Operate the POS system accurately and balance the cash drawer.
· Recommend breads, sweets, sandwiches, and seasonal products to increase sales.
· Bake cookies and other assigned products according to procedures.
· Using slier machine for breads and other tools for slicing meats and vegetables.
· Prepare fresh sandwiches and lunch items to recipe standards.
· Continuously merchandise and restock displays to keep products full, fresh, and appealing.
· Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, bakery, kitchen, and restrooms.
· Follow food safety and sanitation standards.
· Receive deliveries and rotate inventory using FIFO.
· Support opening and closing duties and work as part of the bakery team.
Qualifications
· Excellent customer service and communication skills, 2 years customer service required.
· Cash handling or retail/POS experience required.
· Food service or bakery experience preferred.
· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 pounds.
· Flexible availability including mornings, weekends, and holidays.
