Duties
- Lead engaging basketball training sessions, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship for players of all ages and skill levels
- Develop and implement comprehensive practice plans that incorporate sports-specific training instruction and conditioning techniques
- Recruit talented student-athletes by identifying potential players, attending games, and maintaining strong relationships with schools and community organizations
- Coordinate tryouts, evaluate player performance, and provide constructive feedback to support athlete growth
- Foster a positive team culture by promoting good behavior management, discipline, and motivation among players
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and school officials to update on team progress and upcoming events
Qualifications
- Proven experience coaching basketball
- Strong background in sports coaching instruction, team leadership, and working with children or students in physical education settings
- Excellent communication skills for client communication with parents, school staff, and community partners
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques to promote respectful conduct on and off the court
- Experience teaching physical education or sports-specific training instruction preferred
- Background in health club or gym environments is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to motivate youth athletes while fostering a fun yet disciplined atmosphere
