Position Title: Sandwich Support Specialist
Pay Rate: $16.00/hour
Schedule: Tuesday–Thursday | 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Location: Offsite Prep Kitchen
Reports To: Manager and/or Assistant Manager
About the Role
South O Sandwich Co. is seeking dependable and detail-oriented individuals to support food preparation operations as a Sandwich Support Specialist. This is a non-customer-facing position working in an offsite prep kitchen environment assisting with ingredient preparation, kitchen organization, food assembly support, and daily operational readiness.
This position supports a social enterprise business where all profits directly support Stephen Center’s mission of helping individuals experiencing homelessness build a path toward housing and stability.
Training is expected to begin the week of June 1, with operations opening to the public on June 9.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and food items according to company standards
- Assist with sandwich prep and kitchen production support
- Support opening and closing kitchen procedures
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety standards
- Organize supplies, inventory, and prep stations
- Assist with receiving and stocking deliveries
- Follow workplace safety procedures and operational guidelines
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and leadership
Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years old
- No certifications required
- Prior kitchen or food prep experience preferred but not required
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Reliable attendance and punctuality required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
