Dairyfood USA, Inc., a market leader in specialty cheese production for over 65 years, is currently seeking a Senior Cost Accountant. This position contributes to organizational success by providing reports, developing pricing formulas, performing cost analyses and delivering solutions to internal customers. Additionally, the Senior Cost Accountant performs tasks associated with internal accounting, budgeting, general and cost accounting, as well as monthly closing. Based in our production facility in the heart of America’s Dairyland, Blue Mounds, WI, this position reports to the Plant Controller.
Primary Job Functions:
- Develop and maintain standard inventory costs and related systems maintenance.
- Analyze and review standard and actual costs for materials, labor, burden and other cost components for inaccuracies and improvements.
- Analyze inventory valuations and monthly performance focusing on cost of goods sold and production reports.
- Generate and track all product costing estimates for both new and existing product formulations.
- Analyze costing information and collaborate with sales and finance teams to establish and adjust customer pricing.
- Analyze and report on margins by product, product category, customer, customer channel and provide actionable insights to management
- Analyze manufacturing operations, equipment availability and utilization.
- Recommend changes to the company’s processes to streamline processes or reduce costs.
- Perform life cycle cost-benefit analysis of items.
- Become power user for our ERP system related to method of manufacturing and costing.
- Other projects as defined by management.
Basic Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or food production organization required.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft software, particularly MS Excel
- Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Experience with Sage X3 preferred.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
