On-Site Estimator | Decks & Outdoor Living

About the Role
Bevilacqua Deck Builders is looking for a reliable, customer-focused On-Site Estimator to meet homeowners at their properties, evaluate project requirements, and help turn their vision into reality.
This is an ideal role for someone with hands-on construction knowledge who enjoys working with people. You'll be the first face our customers meet, gathering project details, taking accurate measurements, understanding their goals, and helping guide them through the initial stages of their deck or outdoor living project.
Responsibilities
- Meet homeowners at scheduled appointments.
- Take accurate site measurements and document existing conditions.
- Assess decks, porches, stairs, railings, and outdoor living spaces.
- Understand customer needs, ideas, and budget expectations.
- Explain construction options and answer basic project-related questions.
- Identify potential site challenges and communicate them to the office.
- Take clear site photos/videos and detailed notes and upload them on Jobtread (CRM)
- Prepare and submit measurement reports for estimating and proposal creation.
- Maintain a professional, friendly, and knowledgeable experience for every customer.
- Coordinate with the office and project management team to ensure smooth project handoffs.
Qualifications
- Experience in construction, carpentry, deck building, remodeling, or a related trade.
- Good understanding of decks, porches, railings, stairs, and outdoor structures.
- Comfortable reading a tape measure and taking precise measurements.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to build rapport and confidently speak with homeowners.
- Basic sales or consultation experience is preferred, but this is not a high-pressure sales position.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet to capture photos and notes.
