Online Seller / E-Commerce Assistant
The Well of Mercy is seeking a dependable, motivated, and organized Online Seller / E-Commerce Assistant to join our growing e-commerce team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys online selling, photography, organizing merchandise, and helping customers.
The Online Seller will help manage product listings, process orders, prepare packages for shipping, and provide a positive shopping experience. The income generated through our online store directly supports our home and shelter for women and children.
Responsibilities
- Sort, organize, and prepare donated items for sale
- Research products to determine appropriate pricing
- Take clear and attractive photographs of merchandise
- Create accurate product titles and descriptions
- Post and update listings on eBay and other online selling platforms
- Answer customer questions in a professional and timely manner
- Process orders and prepare items for shipping
- Track inventory and remove sold or unavailable items
- Monitor listings and make changes to improve sales
- Keep the online sales and shipping areas clean and organized
- Handle donated items carefully and respectfully
- Work with staff and volunteers to meet weekly sales goals
Qualifications
- Experience with eBay, online selling, retail, or customer service is preferred
- Comfortable using computers, smartphones, and online selling platforms
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to write clear and accurate product descriptions
- Dependable, honest, and able to work independently
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage several tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to lift and move boxes or merchandise as needed

Schedule
This is a part-time position. The schedule may be flexible based on the needs of the organization and the availability of the selected candidate.
Compensation
Pay will be based on experience and the agreed-upon work schedule.

- Create, update, and optimize product listings across various online marketplaces to maximize visibility and sales potential
- Manage order fulfillment processes, including picking, packing, and shipping products efficiently and accurately
- Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure stock levels are maintained and products are available for customer orders
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners to track inventory movements and update stock records in real-time
- Operate heavy equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual handling tools to load, unload, and organize goods within the warehouse
- Conduct quality control checks on products before shipment to ensure they meet company standards
- Assist with shipping & receiving tasks, ensuring timely dispatch of orders while adhering to safety protocols including PPE use
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse management or distribution environments with familiarity in warehouse operations such as order picking, stocking, and packing
- Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other mechanical tools
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and inventory control procedures
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting safely while following PPE guidelines
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for order fulfillment accuracy and quality control
- Prior experience in shipping & receiving processes along with warehouse distribution responsibilities
- Mechanical knowledge or familiarity with heavy equipment operation is preferred but not mandatory
- Warehouse supervisor experience or leadership background is a plus for candidates aspiring to grow into supervisory roles
