Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Lathe Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate, set up, and program CNC lathes to produce precision metal components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in machining processes, blueprint interpretation, and machine calibration will be essential in delivering high-quality parts efficiently. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining technology in a fast-paced environment committed to excellence and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC lathe machines, including Fanuc or similar control systems, to produce complex metal parts with precision.
- Set up machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and calibrating equipment according to specifications.
- Program CNC lathes using G-code, M-code, and CAM programming software to ensure accurate machining operations.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to determine machining requirements.
- Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part dimensions and quality.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment aligned with lean manufacturing principles.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC lathe machines with a solid understanding of CNC programming (G-code/M-code) and machine setup.
- Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and interpreting geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong mechanical knowledge of machining tools, tooling selection, and manual machining techniques.
- Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar for part design review; experience with CAM programming is a plus.
- Ability to use precision measurement instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines for quality control.
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances necessary for machining operations.
- Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM), grinding processes, welding basics, and plastics injection molding is advantageous.
- Physical ability to handle hand tools, power tools, forklifts (certification preferred), and perform machine setup tasks efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Join us if you’re passionate about precision manufacturing and eager to contribute your skills toward producing top-tier components! We value safety, quality craftsmanship, and continuous learning—your expertise will help us achieve manufacturing excellence every day!
