The SCM Excellence Assistant Manager is responsible for driving supply chain excellence initiatives by leading process optimization, data analytics, warehouse improvement, and cross-functional operational projects across the factory's Supply Chain organization. This position partners with Planning, Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse, Manufacturing, and other functional teams to improve operational performance, standardize processes, enhance data visibility, and support digital transformation initiatives.
The SCM Excellence Assistant Manager serves as a key contributor in identifying improvement opportunities, implementing best practices, supporting warehouse optimization projects, and developing data-driven solutions that improve efficiency, inventory performance, material flow, and overall supply chain execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Supply Chain Process Excellence
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across Planning, Procurement, Logistics, and Warehouse operations.
- Evaluate existing supply chain processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, standardization, and operational performance.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across SCM functions.
- Facilitate process mapping, value stream analysis, and workflow optimization.
- Ensure SCM processes align with company objectives and operational best practices.
- Support digital transformation and automation initiatives throughout the supply chain organization.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Lead Lean initiatives to eliminate waste, improve productivity, and optimize material flow.
- Drive continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other operational excellence methodologies.
- Monitor project milestones and ensure timely execution of improvement initiatives.
- Analyze operational bottlenecks and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Data Analytics & Business Intelligence
· Lead the development of dashboards, reports, and KPIs using Power BI, Excel, and other reporting tools.
· Analyze large datasets to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
· Monitor key SCM performance metrics including:
o Inventory Accuracy
o Inventory Turns
o On-Time Delivery
o Supplier Performance
o Warehouse Productivity
o Material Availability
o Lead Time
o Space Utilization
· Present analytical findings and recommendations to management.
· Support data governance and reporting accuracy across SCM functions.
Warehouse Optimization
- Lead warehouse optimization initiatives focused on improving efficiency, storage utilization, inventory accuracy, and operational flow.
- Support warehouse layout improvements and material flow optimization.
- Coordinate warehouse automation and digitalization projects.
- Analyze warehouse KPIs and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Support implementation of warehouse best practices and standard work.
Project Management
- Manage SCM Excellence projects from planning through implementation.
- Develop project schedules, timelines, risk assessments, and status reports.
- Coordinate project meetings and monitor action item completion.
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality, schedule, and business objectives.
- Provide regular progress updates to management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of end-to-end Supply Chain Management principles.
- Understanding of Planning, Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse, and Inventory Management processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization platforms.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Planning, Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and IT teams.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
- Support organizational change management during process improvements.
- Coordinate cross-functional workshops and continuous improvement events.
· Benchmark industry best practices and recommend operational improvements.
Performance Measurement
- Develop SCM performance dashboards and scorecards.
- Monitor operational KPIs and recommend corrective actions when targets are not achieved.
- Support monthly business reviews through data preparation and analysis.
- Ensure reporting accuracy and consistency across departments.
Leadership & Team Development
- Provide guidance and mentorship to SCM Excellence Associates and project team members.
- Support employee development through coaching and knowledge sharing.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Foster a data-driven culture throughout the SCM organization.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and operational procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation for projects, SOPs, process maps, and improvement initiatives.
- Support internal and external audits related to SCM processes.
- Maintain documentation for continuous improvement activities.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field required.
- Master's degree (MBA, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related discipline) preferred.
Experience
- 5+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, Planning, Warehouse Operations, or Manufacturing.
- Minimum of 2 years leading supply chain improvement initiatives or operational excellence projects.
- Experience within a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects from planning through implementation.
- Experience developing dashboards and performance reporting using Power BI or similar business intelligence tools preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to travel between office, warehouse, and manufacturing areas as needed.
- May occasionally work outside normal business hours during system upgrades, maintenance windows, or production support activities.
Work Environment:
· Warehouse, production, and office environments.
· Fast-paced, high-growth technology manufacturing setting.
· Frequent interaction with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain teams.
· Exposure to warehouse operations, including moving equipment and material handling.
· Moderate noise levels with required use of PPE as applicable.
· Occasional travel to other sites in El Paso, TX and Ciudad Juárez, MX as needed.
