Service Technician – Wind Division
We are looking for a skilled Service Technician to travel with our team installing, maintaining, and servicing Avanti products at wind farms. You will focus on inspection and repair, and reporting of data about our products in the field. A great wind service technician is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. On-the-job training is a good way to discover how to do the job better, so you should have willingness to learn and improve. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers. Travel is a key component of this job. The goal will be to ensure that service procedures will be carried out smoothly to maximize efficiency and profits.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading electrical schematics, mechanical drawings etc.

Repair, report parts, and assembly replacement

Control and adjust product settings (e.g. weight limits)

Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools for function

Test operation of machines
-
Fix issues that might occur on our products
-
Keep records of service works performed
-
Work on installing, maintaining, and servicing Avanti products on Wind Farms

Document service and reporting in system
-
Interact with customers and vendors as needed
-
Follow all safety policies, company policies, and use all required PPE
-
Other duties as assigned by management
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
-
Experience as a mechanic strongly desired

Working knowledge of diverse electrical and mechanical systems strongly desired

Understanding of data recording procedures

Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)

Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals

Analytical skills

Attention to detail

Teamwork and communication skills

Ability to travel within service schedule (estimated 4-6 weeks on, 2 weeks off)

Knowledge working with Microsoft Office

Knowledge of hand tools and power tools

Must possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

Must have current valid US Driver's License

Must be over the age of 25 for auto insurance purposes

Must meet the criteria to be insurable under our auto insurance policy

Must be able to pass relevant: background check, motor vehicle report, physical and drug/alcohol tests

Must be willing, able to, and be comfortable working in extreme heights
-
High school diploma or equivalent
-
Technical Degree is a plus

Experience in a similar field strongly desired
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to climb all structure types

Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 lbs

Must be able to work in all weather conditions including inclement weather

Must be able to comfortably work at extreme heights

Must be able to work in enclosed spaces

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach, lift, bend, squat, kneel, climb, balance, stoop, crawl, and crouch for extended periods of time

Must be able to drive for extended periods of time

Must be able to visually inspect equipment
