Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Refrigeration Technician to join our team and ensure the optimal operation of refrigeration, HVAC, and mechanical systems across various property sites. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of equipment, including ammonia refrigeration systems, air conditioning units, boilers, and plumbing fixtures. As a vital part of our maintenance team, you will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain essential refrigeration and HVAC systems to keep operations running smoothly. Duties
- Diagnose and repair refrigeration systems, including ammonia refrigeration units and commercial refrigerators, ensuring they operate at peak performance.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment such as air conditioning units, boilers, and ventilation systems to prevent breakdowns.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately identify issues and implement solutions.
- Conduct plumbing repairs related to refrigeration and HVAC systems, including pipe fittings, valves, and drainage components.
- Utilize tools such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting and welding equipment for mechanical repairs when necessary.
- Install new refrigeration or HVAC equipment following safety protocols and manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, and inspection reports to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Support field service operations by traveling between sites to perform on-site repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Assist with appliance repair tasks related to property maintenance projects involving cooling or heating appliances.
Experience
- Proven experience as a service technician specializing in refrigeration, HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration), or mechanical systems.
- Hands-on experience with construction projects involving HVAC installation or maintenance is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design principles for accurate troubleshooting.
- Mechanical knowledge related to boiler operation, welding techniques, and equipment repair is essential.
- Familiarity with ammonia refrigeration systems used in commercial or industrial settings is preferred.
- Prior field service experience working on property maintenance projects involving air conditioning or appliance repair is advantageous.
- Travel will be required.
