Civil Engineer/ Quality Engineer

Responsibilities
ZTC is seeking to fill a senior level position to work as the Civil/ Quality Engineer on our many projects regarding highway and bridge construction. The candidate shall work under the direction of the Principal Quality Engineer (PQE) and will be trained to assist the PQE in completing several tasks, including:
- Review Bridge Plans and Specifications
- Preparation and implementation of the Bridge Construction Source Inspection Quality Management Plan (SIQMP)
- Preparation and implementation of the Bridge Construction Quality Management Plan (QMP)
- Attend weekly jobsite construction meetings
- Attend periodic jobsite quality meetings
- Review construction submittals and RFIs
- Review construction work plans and quality control plans
- Periodic jobsite visits and construction verification
- Preparation of monthly quality reports
- Review of construction inspection reports
- Performance of facility audits
- Construction material specification development / control cycle verification
- Perform construction quality audits
- Construction Material Engineering
- Bridge Construction Failure Analysis
The candidate will utilize their knowledge to anticipate and resolve any issues that may arise associated with project construction related to quality and materials. Once familiar with materials inspection requirements, the candidate will provide direction to inspectors & technical staff as directed by the PQE. In order to comply with contract requirements, execution of proper procedures during travel is expected. Training will be provided.
Qualifications & Skills
- BS or MS in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Some related work experience and/or internships is preferred
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in Civil
- Proficient writing & communication skills
- Willingness to travel by car around the Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Ventura Metropolitan areas (vehicle will be provided)
- Willingness to occasionally travel out of state for fabrication visits and audits
- Minimum five (5) years experience

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
