Promise Meals is a subsidiary of PHG, that delivers meals to government contracted entities across New York City.
Position Summary
Promise Meals Delivery Drivers are responsible for transporting government contract meals safely and efficiently. Drivers ensure delivery vehicles are properly loaded, refrigerated, organized and clean while completing deliveries according to strict schedules and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carefully load and organize delivery vehicles with packaged meals and supplies.
- Ensure refrigeration systems in delivery vehicles are functioning and maintaining proper temperatures.
- Verify delivery quantities and documentation before leaving the facility.
- Transport meals safely and on schedule to delivery locations.
- Communicate with management regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicles. Remove debris from the cabin and sweep and mop the truck bed.
- Support with driving the vans for maintenance and cleaning of the vehicles of the van to ensure safety and all state/federal regulations.
- Driving safely within rules and regulations to avoid traffic violations.
- Record any incident reports regarding the van. Follow all safety and transportation regulations during deliveries.
- Complete all necessary paperwork required for deliveries in a timely manner.
- Report vehicle issues are communicated to their manager in a timely fashion.
- Utilize delivery equipment such as dolleys, carts, handtrucks to safely lift and deliver food.
Qualifications & Experience
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- 1–3 years delivery, logistics, or transportation experience preferred.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow delivery schedules and operational procedures.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and transport 50-75 lbs.
- Ability to load and unload food containers and delivery equipment.
- Ability to drive and operate delivery vehicles for extended periods.
- Work requires the following motions: bending, lifting, twisting, squatting, reaching, and hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
- Exposure to the outside cold and heat while delivering.
LOCATION
This position will operate out of the Tillary Hotel in Brooklyn, NY, and deliver across all 5 boroughs of New York City. Occasional travel to other PHG kitchens and delivery locations will be required.
SCHEDULE
We are hiring FT/PT and contract drivers that are looking to start working ASAP (as soon as 6/30). We have a 6 am - 3 pm, 3-11 pm and are working on an overnight shift for 11 pm - 6 am. We also have one off catering drops that we are looking for contract drivers.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$18 - $20 an hour, depending on experience. PHG offers a comprehensive benefits package including company-subsidized health/vision/dental insurance (eligible after 60 days of employment), sick time, commuter benefits, and opportunities for advancement.
