Position Title: Youth Development Professional
Department: Operations
Reports To: Unit Director & Assistant Unit Director
Job Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt, and Part Time (20-29 hours/wk)
Regularly Scheduled Hours: School Year schedule Monday through Friday 2PM-7PM. The Summer Schedule Monday through Thursday 8 AM & 5 PM.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Youth Development Professional (YDP) helps plan, lead, and oversee activities for Club members in daily programming. This role supports our core focus areas: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character & Citizenship. YDPs create a safe, engaging environment and help guide youth through positive experiences.
Key Responsibilities1. Supporting Youth Development
- Build a welcoming environment that encourages participation.
- Assist with member sign-ups and orientation for new youth.
- Provide positive guidance and act as a role model for members.
- Incorporate technology into programs and activities.
2. Program Delivery
- Lead and assist with activities, programs, and services for drop-in members and visitors.
- Monitor and review program quality, safety, and overall Club appearance.
- Document participation and outcomes through routine activity reports.
3. Team Collaboration
- Contribute to a positive work culture.
- Attend staff meetings and required trainings.
4. Safety & Cleanliness
- Ensure youth follow all Club safety and sanitation procedures.
- Help maintain cleanliness and proper sanitation of program areas and materials.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children.
- Understanding of youth development concepts.
- Able to motivate young people and manage behaviors appropriately.
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to work well with families and visitors.
- Able to plan and lead youth programs effectively.
- Able to supervise members safely and maintain order.
- Valid State Driver’s License required.
