About the Role We're seeking a Clinical Engineering Cyber Specialist to lead medical device cybersecurity efforts within our hospital environment. You'll drive risk assessments, vulnerability remediation, and cross-functional collaboration with IT and InfoSec to keep our medical devices secure and operational.
Position Summary You'll lead technical delivery of our medical device cybersecurity program — from asset inventory and control implementation to critical fix execution — while analyzing emerging threats and supporting metrics reporting for leadership.
What You'll Do
● Lead collection of critical cybersecurity data elements (CDEs) and manufacturer documentation in CMMS; conduct risk assessments
● Oversee medical device configuration to align with cybersecurity standards and manufacturer guidelines
● Manage planned and unplanned vulnerability remediation, including zero-day response and manufacturer coordination
● Investigate cybersecurity alerts, analyze high-risk vulnerabilities, and develop response recommendations
● Track and report remediation activities; identify opportunities to strengthen practices across HTM and IT
● Support HTM cybersecurity education, coach BMETs on best practices, and represent the organization at industry forums
What You Bring
● Experience in medical device cybersecurity or healthcare technology
● Strong knowledge of CMMS platforms, cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO), and FDA/Joint Commission regulations
● Proven ability to lead technical projects and drive cross-functional alignment
● Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
● Preferred certifications: CISSP, HCISPP, CEH, or Security+
Minimum Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
● 3+ years of relevant functional experience
