Job Description
Lighthouse Preschool LLC is looking for a motivated self-starter for an Assistant Director/Pre K Teacher position. The candidate must have strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and have a good understanding of age appropriate activities for young children and VDOE standards .
In the Assistant Director/Pre-K teacher role you will:
- Hire, Supervise and Train Staff while motivating staff to maximize collaboration, retention and growth
- Teach a group preschool students
- Collaborate with the center director to maintain the day to day operations of the center according to licensing standards
- Partner with parents from enrollment to meeting the educational needs of their children
- Manage your time as you support classrooms and staff
- Nurture your leadership skills and grow your career through various opportunities
- Take over the operations of the business during the absence of the director
- Qualifications/Experience:
- Must meet VA State standards for Childcare Program Director.
- BA or AA in Early childhood education or CDA.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in childcare or early education in a teaching position
- Minimum of 1 year of childcare supervisory/administrative experience.
- Must be able to drive a passenger van
The Ideal Candidate must have:
- Strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks or crisis situations effectively
- Experience developing standard operating procedures, standards of performance, evaluating performance
- Flexibility in schedule (able to work any shift between 630 am & 530 pm) and willingness to take on various roles as necessary (ie cook,driver)
- The ability to lift up to 40 lbs, bend or sit at children's level, work indoors and outdoors
