Crisis Intervention Worker - Hybrid, Part Time
Elder Services of Worcester Area, Inc., is seeking a part-time Crisis Intervention Worker to work within our Protective Services Department. This hybrid position requires a minimum of two days per week in the office.
The Crisis Intervention Worker provides crisis intervention services to adults aged 60 and over residing in the ESWA service area who are frail, isolated, or at risk due to emotional, physical, environmental, or financial crises. This role delivers short-term, goal-oriented casework interventions designed to stabilize crisis situations, reduce risk, and support individuals to remain safe in their communities. Services are provided in accordance with program contract requirements, including timely response, documentation, and measurable outcomes. This position also supports individuals experiencing self-neglect who may not meet eligibility criteria for Adult Protective Services.
A bachelor’s degree is required. A degree in social work, psychology, counseling, human development, nursing, sociology, criminal justice, public health, public policy, gerontology or a related field preferred. A minimum of two years of experience in the human services field preferred. Bilingual skills are preferred. Use of a reliable vehicle including active vehicle insurance with a current license to drive is required. Must have strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills. Must be capable of lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds and performing the physical requirements of the position with the ability to climb stairs, as needed. Demonstrated proficiency in multitasking, maintaining accurate records, strong attention to detail, documenting clearly, and communicating effectively verbally and in writing, all within a fast-paced environment. Computerproficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office products (Word and Outlook). Ability to drive to home visits and attend meetings in the surrounding community.
Non-negotiable Salary: $27.18 to $27.70 per hour (20 hours per week)
- HIRING BONUS will be awarded in 2 parts, half at 120 Days, and half at 1 year of active employment. The bonus for this position is $530.00.
