Assistant Head of SecurityJob Overview
We are seeking a responsible, experienced, and highly capable Assistant Head of Security to help lead our security team and maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for players, coaches, families, staff, and guests at National Parks Baseball Resort.
Working closely with the Head of Security, the Assistant Head of Security will help oversee daily security operations across the resort, baseball fields, lodging areas, parking areas, and guest facilities. This role requires a strong leader who can remain calm under pressure, make sound decisions, communicate effectively, and take a proactive approach to safety and security.
The ideal candidate has experience supervising teams, managing security or safety operations, responding to incidents, and working in busy hospitality, resort, sporting, or event environments. Responsibilities
- Assist the Head of Security in leading, supervising, and coordinating the resort security team.
- Help develop and implement daily security procedures, protocols, and emergency response plans.
- Supervise security personnel during tournament operations, ensuring adequate coverage throughout the resort and event areas.
- Monitor guest activity, facilities, parking areas, lodging areas, fields, and other resort property to identify and address potential safety or security concerns.
- Respond quickly and professionally to incidents, emergencies, disturbances, medical situations, and other situations requiring security assistance.
- Assist with investigating and documenting incidents, accidents, guest concerns, property damage, and other security-related matters.
- Maintain detailed security logs and incident reports and ensure important information is communicated to resort leadership.
- Assist with scheduling security staff, assigning posts, managing shift changes, and ensuring appropriate coverage during busy periods.
- Help train and mentor security team members on guest interaction, emergency procedures, conflict resolution, and resort security protocols.
- Work closely with resort management, medical personnel, law enforcement, emergency responders, and other departments when necessary.
- Assist with managing access to restricted areas and ensuring resort policies are consistently followed.
- Help maintain security equipment, radios, keys, emergency supplies, and other operational resources.
- De-escalate conflicts and difficult situations professionally while prioritizing the safety and well-being of guests and staff.
- Support emergency preparedness drills and help ensure employees understand appropriate emergency procedures.
- Provide a visible, professional, and approachable security presence throughout the resort.
- Perform other security and operational duties as assigned by the Head of Security or resort leadership.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, military, emergency services, hospitality security, event security, or a related field.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills, particularly in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and approachable when dealing with difficult or stressful situations.
- Strong conflict-resolution and de-escalation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively with employees, coaches, players, families, guests, vendors, and emergency personnel.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures, emergency response, and incident reporting.
- First Aid, CPR, AED, or other relevant safety certifications are highly desirable.
- Ability to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts during the summer tournament season.
- Experience working at a resort, sporting complex, large-scale event, youth sports facility, or hospitality operation is a plus.
- Must be dependable, observant, physically capable of performing the duties of the position, and comfortable working outdoors for extended periods.

Location
This position is based in Tetonia, Idaho. Candidates must either live within a reasonable driving distance of Tetonia or be willing to relocate before their employment start date.
To support our seasonal operations during the busy summer tournament season (Memorial Day through Labor Day), onsite housing and meals may be provided for qualified team members, depending on availability and operational needs.
