Job Summary
Lake Wales Dental Group is seeking an experienced and dependable Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our growing specialty dental team on a per diem basis. The CRNA will play a vital role in delivering safe, effective anesthesia care for patients undergoing oral surgery, implant procedures, and other dental surgical treatments in an office-based setting.
As a key member of the clinical team, you will assess, monitor, and manage patient anesthesia needs before, during, and after procedures while ensuring the highest level of patient safety and comfort. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive preoperative patient assessments, including review of medical history, medications, allergies, and vital signs
- Develop individualized anesthesia plans based on patient needs and surgical procedures
- Administer IV sedation and anesthesia medications safely and effectively
- Monitor patients continuously throughout procedures and recovery
- Manage airway techniques and respond appropriately to medical emergencies if needed
- Collaborate closely with doctors, surgical assistants, and clinical staff to ensure smooth patient care and workflow
- Maintain accurate anesthesia records and medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards
- Monitor and adjust anesthesia levels based on real-time patient responses and physiological changes
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, infection control, and anesthesia safety protocols
- Maintain anesthesia equipment, medications, emergency supplies, and crash cart readiness
- Educate patients regarding anesthesia procedures and post-operative recovery instructions
- Support a positive patient experience through professionalism, compassion, and excellent bedside manner
Qualifications
- Active CRNA license in the State of Florida
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications preferred
- Strong knowledge of anesthesia medications, airway management, and patient monitoring
- Experience with office-based anesthesia, oral surgery, or ambulatory surgical settings preferred
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Professional, reliable, and team-oriented attitude
Preferred Experience
- Experience with dental anesthesia and oral surgery procedures
- Experience treating pediatric and adult patients
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR documentation systems
- ICU, critical care, or emergency care background preferred
