POSITION SUMMARY
Drivers play an important role within our organization because they ensure that our grocery programs remain stocked with quality products for our members. In this role, you will operate a large Box truck that transports cargo to and from specified destinations, load and unload merchandise and ensure all deliveries are secure and received in a timely fashion.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
· Transporting cargo including food to various market and warehouse locations across the state of Florida.
· Loading and unloading merchandise from trucks using a manual or electric pallet jack.
· Ensuring all loaded merchandise is delivered to destination with no damage.
· Preparing, receiving and providing appropriate documentation for the delivery and/or pick up of goods.
· Maintaining contact with dispatchers to receive instructions regarding scheduled deliveries and/or pick-ups.
· Maintaining accurate logs of travel and cargo according to federal and state regulations.
· Complete daily Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR) and advising management of all truck issues, damaged equipment and any other conditions that would impact safe and timely deliveries.
· Assisting with all other department projects as needed.
ESSENTIALS THAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL
· Clean driving record and State of Florida CDL Class B license with Air Brake endorsement to operate commercial box trucks.
· Strong knowledge of trucking and delivery laws and regulations.
· Prior experience operating an electric pallet jack and/or forklift.
· Ability to work well and collaborate with others.
· Positive attitude even in the face of adversity.
· Availability to work Monday through Saturday, shifts very starting at 5am and ability to work overtime as needed.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· Two years in a similar truck driving position required.
· CDL Class B license or higher with Air Brake endorsement in the State of Florida required.
· Clean driving record, current Florida driver’s license and proof of insurance required.
PHYSICAL WORK REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to sit for long periods of time and move frequently throughout the day. Must be able to push or pull, up to 250 lbs. using a pallet jack and bend and lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
DRUG TEST REQUIREMENTS
UAP is committed to maintaining a safe and productive workplace. Successful candidates will be required to submit for and pass a pre-employment drug test and subject to random testing thereafter.
