Job Summary
Must be able to work Tuesday and Thursday afternoons beginning in September. Join our vibrant team as a Golf Shop Attendant, where you will be the friendly face welcoming guests to our premier golf course. This dynamic role combines customer service excellence with operational support, ensuring every visitor has an enjoyable and seamless experience. You will assist with retail sales, manage guest inquiries, and uphold safety protocols while working outdoors in a lively, energetic environment. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create memorable moments for all who visit.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide exceptional customer service at the golf shop and surrounding areas
- Process cash transactions and operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for retail sales and food service items
- Manage equipment rentals, including clubs, carts, and other accessories, ensuring proper documentation and inventory control
- Assist with event management activities such as tournaments or special outings, coordinating participant check-ins and supporting event logistics
- Enforce safety protocols by conducting manual handling of equipment, heavy lifting, and ensuring outdoor work safety standards are met
- Handle guest inquiries regarding course conditions, memberships, or amenities with clear communication and professionalism
- Support in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the shop, storage areas, and outdoor spaces
Skills
- Proven experience in retail sales and customer service environments
- Strong conflict management skills to handle guest concerns effectively and diplomatically
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of POS systems for processing transactions accurately
- Experience working outdoors in various weather conditions with outdoor work experience preferred
- First aid certification (including CPR) to ensure safety during emergencies
- Event management skills, especially related to hosting tournaments or special events at an outdoor venue
- Experience working with children or in hospitality settings is a plus
- Excellent communication skills for public speaking and guest interactions
- Familiarity with food service operations or resort environments enhances versatility
- Lifeguard experience or theater experience can be advantageous for engaging guest interactions
