Overview
As an Early Intervention Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping infants and toddlers (ages 0–3) with developmental delays, disabilities, sensory processing challenges, and difficulties with daily living skills. Your expertise will help children develop the foundational skills needed for independence, participation in everyday activities, and overall developmental success. You will also provide guidance and support to families to help carry therapeutic strategies into the child's natural environment.
The Occupational Therapist is contracted through B & Y Kids Resources LLC. Services provided by the Occupational Therapist meet the standards of care for occupational therapy services, New York State professional standards, and Department of Health (DOH) guidelines for Early Intervention providers.
Qualifications
Minimum education and experience requirements include:
- Graduation from an Occupational Therapy program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) and/or approved by the New York State Education Department.
- Current New York State license and registration to practice as an Occupational Therapist (Registered Occupational Therapist/Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant)
- Experience working with infants, toddlers, and families is preferred.
Responsibilities
1. Provide occupational therapy services to children as outlined in the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP)
2. Initiate occupational therapy services and provide instruction and support to caregivers and family members to promote skill development within daily routines and natural environments.
3. Prepare and submit required documentation, including session notes and progress reports, in a timely manner.
