Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Fiber Splicing Technician (1099 contractors) with 3+ years of hands-on high-count Ribbon fiber optic experience in Data Center environments. This role requires travel to regional job sites to install, splice, and maintain fiber optic networks. Technicians must ensure high-quality connections while working in a variety of environments. Per diem and lodging are provided for all travel assignments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform fusion splicing and dressing
- Install, validate (test), and dress fiber optic networks and equipment.
- Knowledge and experience with tools such as fusion splicers, OTDRs, cleavers, and microscopes.
- Document work performed, including splice points, cable routes, and test results.
- Identify and repair fiber breaks or signal issues efficiently.
- Follow safety protocols and company policies at all times.
- Travel to regional job sites as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Fiber Splicing Technician, with hands-on ribbon fiber splicing experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience of Validating (testing) Fiber Optics Technician, with hands-on ribbon fiber splicing experience
- CFOT certification (preferred) or equivalent fiber optics training is a plus.
- Proficient with splicing and testing equipment such as (Fujikura, EXFO, Fluke etc..) for ribbon fiber.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work outdoors, in confined spaces, and on 12-hour shifts (morning or night).
- Willingness to travel regularly.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
