Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including data entry, journal entries, and account reconciliation using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or similar systems
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of all financial transactions in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Process payroll and handle accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely payments and collections
- Maintain the general ledger by recording transactions accurately and preparing financial reports such as balance sheets and income statements
- Conduct account analysis, review financial statements, and prepare supporting documentation for audits or internal reviews
- Assist with budgeting activities by tracking expenses against forecasts and analyzing variances
- Support month-end closing procedures including ledger reconciliation, journal entries, and financial report writing
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with familiarity in bookkeeping practices and accounting systems
- Strong knowledge of accounting concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and journal entries
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or comparable platforms
- Experience with corporate accounting, non-profit accounting, or public accounting is highly desirable
- Ability to manage spreadsheets effectively for account analysis, budget tracking, and data organization
- Understanding of GAAP standards and general ledger reconciliation procedures
- Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Effective communication skills to prepare clear financial reports and collaborate with team members
