Grounds Maintenance Technician

Position Overview
Urban Leaf Lawn Care is seeking a dependable and motivated Grounds Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position involves performing residential and commercial property maintenance while assisting with customer communication and job documentation through our company software.
You will work directly alongside our Crew Lead, learning quality workmanship standards while helping support daily operations, customer communication, and service documentation. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well, and wants to grow with a local company.
Responsibilities:
Lawn & Landscape Maintenance
- Perform lawn mowing, edging, string trimming, and blowing wearing proper PPE
- Assist with shrub trimming, hedge maintenance, and landscape improvements.
- Perform seasonal services such as leaf removal, mulch installation, and property cleanups.
- Safely operate commercial lawn care equipment and hand tools.
- Load, unload, clean, and maintain equipment and trailers.
- Follow company quality standards on every property.
Customer Communication & Documentation
- Use Jobber to view daily schedules and assigned work orders.
- Send customer ETA notifications before arriving at properties.
- Take and upload before-and-after photos of completed work.
- Complete service checklists and job notes accurately.
- Document property concerns, damages, and service recommendations.
- Assist in maintaining a professional customer experience through clear communication and accurate reporting.
Team Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Crew Lead to ensure quality standards are met.
- Follow instructions and maintain efficiency throughout the workday.
- Communicate openly with management regarding job progress and property issues.
- Maintain a positive attitude and professional appearance.
Qualifications
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Ability to work outdoors in Texas heat and varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly.
- Comfortable using smartphones and mobile applications throughout the workday.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and accept coaching.
- Previous lawn care or landscaping experience is preferred but not required.

Typical Schedule
- Monday – Friday (Sometimes Saturday depending on weather and workload)
- Approximately 7:00 AM – 5 PM (hours may vary based on weather and workload)
