Ambiance Medical Transportation, the largest NEMT gurney transportation company in Los Angeles, is seeking Emergency Medical Technicians to join our teams as we service major hospitals, health plans, & medical groups.
We are seeking EMTs looking for regular hours with significant exposure to hospital environments. Unlike Ambulance companies, our hours are more regular as our transports are scheduled, not responses to emergency situations. This is a fantastic position for individuals seeking entry positions to EMT jobs and looking to enhance their patient and hospital communication skills.
Ambiance's EMTs function as attendants and, in certain cases, also drive so we have 2 different roles for EMTs:
- EMT / Driver – EMT is primarily an attendant but may act as a driver if needed (e.g. long trips, call outs, staffing needs).
Availability:
- Overnight shift 4pm-2am (Mon-Thurs)
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- EMT / Driver – $22.50 per hour (Premium Rate)

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be on time;
- Provide a critical service to elderly, ill and disabled patients by providing top tier medical transport to/from medical facilities & appointments;
- Adhere to Ambiance’s policies/procedures (training provided) including complying with HIPAA regulations;
- Interface with hospital and facility staff to ensure smooth operations;
- Keep dispatch informed of situations;
- Transport patient in and out of vehicle/bed and into/out of locations in a kind, courteous & safe manner;
- Collaborate with management and the team to improve Ambiance’s level of care, customer service, work environment, and culture; &
- Maintain the stocking and cleanliness of your vehicle during the day and at the end of shift).
OVERALL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- EMT State Certification – renewals paid by Ambiance, must be with company for at least 6 months
- On-line training (paid by Ambiance including hourly wage to take)
- LADOT attendant permit (company will pay for and submit application)
- Pass background check
- Pass drug test
- Pass physical exam
- Ability to lift 150 pounds
DRIVER / EMT ROLE & ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Safely drive and maintain vehicle
- Notify fleet management of preventative maintenance needs and issues
- Complete daily manifest and maintenance records clearly and accurately.
- Clean driving record
- Must be 23 years of age or older and have had a valid drivers license for a minimum of 3 years
- Remain up to date with current standards of care, equipment, certifications, licenses and registrations.
- Monitor patient condition during transport.
- Update dispatch platform throughout shift.
