Job Purpose:
- Road to Home serves as a statewide step-down residential program for adults. The Recovery Specialist - 1st Shift at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing support and guidance to individuals in recovery from behavioral health challenges. This role involves facilitating a safe and therapeutic environment, promoting recovery-oriented activities, and assisting clients in achieving their personal recovery goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and support clients during the 1st shift, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Facilitate group activities and discussions that promote recovery and personal growth.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to develop and implement individualized recovery plans.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and progress.
- Assist clients in developing life skills and coping strategies to support their recovery journey.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of recovery services.
- Uphold the center's policies and procedures to ensure a consistent and supportive environment for all clients.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associate's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is preferred.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of one year of experience in a behavioral health setting or similar environment.
- Experience working with individuals in recovery or with mental health challenges is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques and recovery-oriented systems of care is advantageous.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in all interactions.
- Proficient in documentation and record-keeping to ensure accurate and timely client information.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Competency in using computer systems and software for data entry and communication purposes.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about best practices in recovery support.
