Job Title: Full-Time Maintenance Porter
Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday
Location: 85 Van Reypen Street, Jersey City, NJ
Community: 117-Unit Historic Apartment Community

What You'll Be Doing
Keep a Historic Community Beautiful
Maintain spotless hallways, common areas, entrances, and grounds while using appropriate cleaning methods and products that protect historic finishes and materials.
Protect What Makes This Community Special
Take pride in preserving the charm and character of a classic apartment community through thoughtful, detail-oriented work.
Stay Proactive
Walk the property daily, identify concerns before they become bigger issues, and communicate them to the maintenance team.
Support the Maintenance Team
Assist with light maintenance projects including spackling, painting, landscaping, and other general upkeep as needed.
Deliver a Great Resident Experience
Residents notice the little things. Your work helps create a clean, welcoming place they're proud to call home.

Preferred Experience
- Previous experience as a porter, cleaner, janitor, or custodian
- Experience maintaining apartment communities or commercial buildings
- Light maintenance experience including:
- Spackling
- Painting
- Landscaping
- General property upkeep
- Knowledge of proper cleaning products and techniques for older or historic buildings is a plus.
Physical Requirements
This is a hands-on, active position that includes:
- Bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing stairs
- Lifting up to 75 lbs. (team assistance available for heavier items)
- Working indoors and outdoors throughout the year
- Standing and walking for extended periods
