Estate Design & Construction, Inc. is a rapidly growing commercial construction company specializing in public works, municipal projects, and private commercial construction throughout California. We are seeking a reliable and detail-driven Accounts Payable Clerk to join our accounting team and support our continued expansion.
Position Overview
The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for processing vendor invoices, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the accounting department with day-to-day AP functions. This role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to follow established procedures in a fast-paced construction environment.
This position reports directly to the Director of Operations and works closely with Project Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter and process vendor invoices accurately and timely
- Match invoices to purchase orders, contracts, and approvals
- Verify job cost coding and ensure expenses are allocated correctly
- Maintain organized digital and physical AP records
- Track invoice statuses and resolve discrepancies with vendors
- Assist with weekly check runs and payment processing
- Communicate with internal teams regarding invoice approvals
- Support month-end closing activities as needed
- Follow internal accounting procedures and controls consistently
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of Accounts Payable or accounting experience
- Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to follow structured processes and deadlines
- Comfortable working with accounting software (QuickBooks experience preferred)
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Professional communication skills (email, phone, internal coordination)
- Ability to work in an in-office environment
Preferred (But Not Required)
- Construction or public works accounting experience
- Familiarity with job costing and cost codes
- Experience working with multiple vendors and high invoice volume
