MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with department team members complete a solicitation proposal including project execution plan, estimate, proposal narrative, proforma documents, and preliminary project design information

Potential to manage multiple projects

Read and understand the Request for Proposal (RFP)

Lead reviewing plans and specs of projects with procurement team

Manage quantity takeoffs and scope pricing by assigning scopes of work to estimators and completing scope of work assigned to an Estimator

Call subcontractors and review subcontractor bids for the complete scope of work.
- Review subcontractor bids for complete scope of work on scopes of work assigned to other estimators with the assigned estimator

Make decision on which subcontractors will be selected for use in the bid

Make decisions with Design Manager on which design partners will be selected for the project
-
Make decisions with Design Manager on direction of preliminary design

Identify risk areas of a project and develop a plan to mitigate the risk

Identify project schedule, propose a POP for the project, and include in the estimate any additional scope of work and costs associated with the proposed POP
-
Coordinate with GC partners on bidding strategy, manpower, and resources
-
Work with project management to complete buyout of awarded projects

Establishing and maintaining relationships with the Owner, design professionals, building officials, subcontractors, and suppliers

Reviewing all vendor schedules of values and preparing the general schedule of values to ensure completion of the project on time

Identify workload needed for the company in assigned area. Build a plan to acquire the needed work and execute the plan

Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Must be able to work with government and non-government personnel in a professional and clear manner. Be able to work with different trades and construction focuses, to ensure a safe environment without limiting the trades ability to complete work. Must be able to properly communicate over the phone and in writing to upper management to include Owners, PM’s, Superintendents, and Corporate Safety.
Qualifications

5-10 years’ experience in Construction Estimating

Design/Build Bid Experience
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
-
Proficient in Bluebeam
-
Excellent plan and specification reading skills
-
Well-developed organizational skills
-
Honest, dependable, and possess good interpersonal skills
-
Must pass government security clearance standards
-
Must pass pre-employment drug screen test if hired
-
Good driving record, valid license - insurable through the company
Preferred

Experience estimating commercial/government construction projects
- Project Management experience

Experience in Bluebeam tools
-
Scheduling knowledge – Primavera P6 experience preferred

B.S. in Construction Management/Engineering
-
Complete proposal organization and review experience
