About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and hands-on leader to join our team as a Waste Compliance Manager. This is a full-time, permanent position designed for someone looking to take the next step in their career. As the Waste Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing compliance operations, ensuring safety, and driving process improvements. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the safety and training efforts for all on-site employees
- Oversee employee hiring, promotion, reprimanding, and termination processes in compliance with legal standards
- Develop and manage staffing schedules, accounting for holidays and time off, ensuring adequate coverage at all times
- Ensure that staffing and equipment levels meet customer expectations and operational needs
- Maintain a strong customer-service focus, especially when addressing inquiries from customer management
- Provide fork truck training and ensure all necessary licensing is in place
- Apply legal knowledge regarding staffing and compliance to ensure fairness and adherence to regulations
- Foster a creative, team-oriented environment while driving continuous process improvements
- Ensure the Health & Safety Plan is adhered to, and promote safety best practices across all operations
- Conduct regular compliance audits, ensuring proper collection, labeling, and storage of hazardous and non-hazardous materials
- Address and remedy any identified nonconformities immediately
- Track, store, and maintain all audit records as required
- Work beyond regular hours (up to 40+ hours per week, with potential for nights/weekends in emergencies)
- Utilize computer systems effectively, including proficiency in email and Microsoft software
- Communicate effectively, providing leadership to hire, train, and manage associates to succeed in their roles
- Instill and promote a “Team First” mentality to foster a positive and collaborative work culture
- Utilize knowledge of RCRA and DOT regulations to ensure compliance
Physical Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Capability to walk long distances and maintain focus throughout the workday
- Ability to stand, sit, bend, reach, push, pull, and drive for extended periods
- Willingness and ability to safely work in both indoor and outdoor environments
Qualifications:
- RCRA and DOT experience required
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams and fostering a strong team-oriented culture
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively train and motivate employees
- Ability to think creatively and drive process improvements
- Basic knowledge of legal practices related to staffing, promotions, reprimands, and terminations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $62,000.00 per year
