American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN for a 12-hour night shift assignment requiring Level III-IV experience and an active AR or Compact RN license.

Work in a 104-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit organized into 8-bed pods
-
Patient population includes 23-week micro-premies, VLBW infants, and complex cases such as spina bifida, diaphragmatic hernia, NEC perforation, and PDA ligations
-
Average patient length of stay is 40 days
-
Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3-4 based on acuity
-
Ancillary support includes 1-2 PCTs per shift and onsite lab/tech services

Advanced Practice providers present on the unit

Respiratory and Anesthesia support available, with RTs managing ventilators
-
Equipment used includes GE and Servo monitors, ECMO, Nitric Oxide, HFOV, Jet Vent, IMV, and Omni bed/Giraffe isolettes
-
EMR is EPIC and medication system is Pyxis
-
12-hour night shift schedule, 36 hours per week
-
Every other weekend required, with holidays as needed

No on-call requirements

Floating required within the ICU cluster (NICU, PICU, Burn ICU), with travelers floated first
-
Scheduling managed by manager or scheduler; no self-scheduling
-
Active RN license (AR or Compact) required
-
Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in a Level III-IV NICU required
-
Level I or II NICU experience will not be considered
-
At least one prior travel assignment required

EPIC EMR experience required
-
NCC Neonatal ICU RN certification preferred

Must test negative for nicotine
-
Reference within the last year required for consideration

Specialty skills checklist required for consideration

Facility is a 359-bed, Level I trauma teaching hospital
-
RNs can expect 2-3 days of orientation and specialty testing
-
Multidisciplinary team approach with dedicated NICU staff
-
Family-centered care model including 24/7 family cameras, private family support resources, and room-in accommodations prior to discharge
-
Must follow facility dress code as outlined in compliance documentation
