St. John UMC is looking to hire a handful of nursery teachers for our growing church.
Position Type: Part-Time Contract Position
Sundays: 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. & 4:30–6:30 p.m.
One weekday evening (rotating): 6:00–8:00 p.m.
Additional services/events as needed
Minimum compensation is $14.00 per hour.

Position Summary
The Nursery Teacher provides loving, dependable care for infants through age 4 in a safe
and joyful environment. This role helps introduce young children to the love of Jesus and
the beliefs, values, and practices of the UMC through simple, age-appropriate activities
and curriculum.
The Right Fit
- 18 years old or older.
- Experience caring for infants and/or young children
- Personal Christian faith
- Genuine love for children
- Dependable and team-oriented
- Ability to model kindness, patience, and care
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Safe Sanctuaries training preferred
- CPR certification preferred
- Key Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, clean, and nurturing environment
- Meet basic care needs (feeding, diapering, comforting)
- Lead simple, age-appropriate activities and curriculum
- Communicate clearly with parents and staff
- Maintain an organized nursery space
- Follow provided guidance and curriculum
- Other duties as assigned
