Duties
- Perform professional grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping tailored to the dog's breed, size and individual needs.
- Assess each pet’s coat, skin condition, and temperament to determine appropriate grooming plans and identify any health concerns that require veterinary attention.
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized and in good working condition.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and provide excellent customer service.
- Handle dogs safely and confidently, employing proper animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and security during grooming procedures
- Stay updated on the latest grooming techniques, trends, and products to enhance service quality.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a positive experience for both pets and their owners.
- Support other team members with animal handling, kennel duties, or pet sitting as needed to promote overall animal welfare
- Able to groom all breeds and sizes
Experience
- 3 years of experience in pet grooming
- Customer service experience
- Familiarity with animal handling and restraint techniques is highly desirable.
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being is essential for success in this role.
Requirements
- Proven experience in pet grooming, with a strong knowledge of breed-specific cuts and styles
- Ability to lift heavy objects (such as large dogs or equipment) safely and efficiently
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate clearly with pet owners and address their concerns
- Experience with animal handling in various settings including kennels.
- Strong attention to detail, patience, and compassion for animals of all temperaments
