OHRA is seeking a candidate for our Thursday through Monday 6:30am-11:00am shift at the Night Lawn in Ashland
Primary Function
The Outreach Specialist is a key member of OHRA’s Outreach and Direct Services team and supports services to the unhoused community in Ashland. These services include storage at the City designated Night Lawn, and the OHRA Laundry Shower Trailer.
Responsibilities include maintaining a safe environment for guests to store their belongings and access needed supplies such as first aid and camping gear; ensuring the area is clean, organized, and stocked with needed supplies; and providing information to new guests about the Sleeping Lawn and services available in Ashland. This position will also support general outreach activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Keep the storage shed clean, stocked with supplies, and ready for use.
· Oversee sign-in/out sheets, daily record-keeping, and ensure procedures are followed and adjusted as needed.
· Open/Close the Storage Shed by bringing in/out items for shared use and additional set-up as needed and assigned.
· Transporting water and other supplies between the Sleeping Lawn and the OHRA Resource Center.
· Other duties as requested.
· Maintain positive interactions with Sleeping Lawn guests.
· Assist with ensuring safety policies are followed.
· Inform new guests and remind returning guests of the times they are allowed to occupy the lawn.
· Respond appropriately to emergency situations, reaching out to supervisors or calling 911 as needed.
· Inform guests of Ashland resources such as community meals and other programs
· Pick up trash and sweep as needed.
· Assist with removing items that have been abandoned or left unattended for too long.
· Help to clean out storage bins and prepare camping gear to be used by guests.
Qualifications
· Knowledge and experience working with the unhoused community, those with mental and behavioral health conditions and substance use disorders.
· The ability to work independently while communicating to keep team members informed.
· Knowledge of and experience with trauma-informed care.
· Knowledge of and experience with de-escalation.
· Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
· At least 1 year of experience with the unhoused community, those with mental and behavioral health conditions, substance use.

Pay: $19.00 per hour
