Full-time/40 hours week. Must be flexible and available to work OT to cover call-outs

(1) Monday - Friday, 10am-6:30pm (Day Shift)

Are you an experienced security professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for protecting people? Join our team as a Security Supervisor (Officer In Charge), where you'll lead security operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment dedicated to the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.
In this leadership role, you will supervise a team of security officers across one or more locations, ensuring daily operations run safely, efficiently, and professionally. You'll play a critical role in mentoring officers, responding to incidents, conducting site inspections, and maintaining the highest standards of security.
This position requires routine travel between assigned sites and reliable transportation.
Position Requirements

- Flexibility to travel between multiple assigned sites
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require
- Ability to answer and respond to officers' calls within 24 hours or less
Supervisor Responsibilities
As the Security Supervisor (Officer In Charge), you will:
- Oversee security officers assigned to one or more sites to ensure safe and efficient operations
- Lead, mentor, and support officers throughout their shifts
- Conduct routine patrols and site inspections to verify compliance with policies and procedures
- Prepare schedules, manage call-offs, and coordinate shift coverage
- Train, coach, and evaluate security personnel
- Respond to emergencies, alarms, accidents, and security incidents; investigate incidents and prepare comprehensive reports
- Ensure compliance with company policies, client expectations, and applicable laws
- Build and maintain professional relationships with clients by addressing concerns promptly
- Inspect uniforms, equipment, and company vehicles to ensure operational readiness
- Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency responders, and management when necessary
- Identify security risks and recommend improvements to enhance safety
- Maintain accurate security logs, documentation, and records for compliance and audits
Key Responsibilities
1. Foot Patrols
Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to identify suspicious activity, deter security threats, and perform routine inspections of entrances, exits, and facility grounds.
2. Access Control
Monitor access to restricted areas, verify identification, authorize entry, and maintain accurate visitor records.
3. Emergency Response
Respond quickly and effectively to medical emergencies, disturbances, alarms, and other security incidents while following established procedures.
4. Conflict Resolution & De-escalation
Use sound judgment and professional de-escalation techniques to safely manage confrontational or emotionally charged situations involving patients, visitors, or staff.
5. Behavioral Monitoring
Observe, assess, and report behaviors or situations that could impact the safety and security of the facility.
6. Incident Reporting
Prepare accurate, detailed, and timely reports documenting incidents, injuries, disturbances, and security concerns.
7. Collaboration with Healthcare Staff
Partner with healthcare professionals to help maintain a safe environment while supporting quality patient care. Participate in joint training exercises and emergency preparedness activities.
8. Safety Inspections
Perform regular inspections of facilities and security equipment, identify potential hazards, and recommend corrective actions.
9. Customer Service
Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting patients, visitors, and staff with professionalism, courtesy, and compassion.
10. Crisis Management
Take an active leadership role during emergencies and crisis situations, helping ensure a safe, coordinated response to disruptive behavior or potential threats.
Required Qualifications
- Current possession of California Guard Card (Required)
- Current “possession” of California REAL ID required to complete the PIV credentialing process (Required). Possession of a passport can be used in exchange for CA Real ID.
- Minimum of 2 years of security field supervisory experience (Required)
- Minimum of 3 years of security and customer service experience in a high-volume healthcare environment (Required)
- Strong communication, report-writing, investigation, and conflict de-escalation skills
- Ability to remain calm, confident, and professional during emergencies and critical incidents
Employment Requirements
- Successfully pass all required background screenings, including the PIV credentialing process.
- Complete and pass a comprehensive medical physical examination and behavioral health assessment
- Be physically capable of standing, walking, and conducting continuous patrols of entrances, buildings, and facility grounds throughout assigned shifts
