Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards.
- Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging such as 3D scans, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed.
- Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and Epic to ensure accurate documentation of medical and dental history, vital signs, and treatment notes.
- Provide chairside assistance by handling dental terminology accurately, assisting with medical documentation, and supporting the dentist throughout procedures.
- Monitor patient vital signs and assist with medical coding for billing purposes while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Support administrative tasks such as greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and managing medical records efficiently.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and anatomy knowledge related to dentistry.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding processes relevant to dental care.
- Experience assisting with pediatric dentistry cases is a plus; familiarity with pediatric dentistry best practices is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
