SCHOOL ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT #1CONTOOCOOK VALLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT________________________________________________________________________________POSITION TITLE: Director of Athletics and Co-Curricular ActivitiesSUPERVISOR: High School PrincipalPAY RANGE: $90,000-$110,000 depending on education and experienceQUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or UniversityThree or more years of experience in public education, or its equivalent, previous experience in coaching, and knowledge of the operation of an athletic program, and coursework in athletic administrationDemonstrated evidence of excellent written and oral communication skillsExcellent leadership and interpersonal skills are needed to fulfill performance expectations for this positionSUMMARY: The Athletic Director is a specialist responsible for the development, coordination, supervision, evaluation, and improvement of athletics at ConVal High School; directly responsible to the Principal for supervision and coordination of activities; serve as consultant and advisor to administrationin matters pertaining to athletics and use of its facilities.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Evaluates and supervises all coaches of interscholastic athleticsOrganizes and administers the overall program of extracurricular interscholastic athletics at the high school and intramurals, as directed by his/her supervisor.Organizes and administers all co-curricular clubs and activities.Provides leadership in the selection, assignment, supervision, and evaluation of all athletic coaches, as well as the administration of eligibility requirements (such as CPR certification) for the coaches and verify eligibility on an ongoing basisResponsibility for the organization and scheduling of all interscholastic and intramural athletic eventsHires officials, team physicians, trainers, and security guards as required, and assumes general responsibility for the proper supervision of home gamesArranges transportation for athletic contest participantsAttends and participates in regional or state meetings and conferences related to NIAAA interscholastic athletics and schedulingDevelops and places into operation appropriate rules and regulations governing the conduct of athletic activitiesSupervises the administration of state and district eligibility requirements for our athletes and verify eligibility on an ongoing basisEnsures all athletic activities in season and out of season comply with all approved NHIAA regulationsPrepares, administers, and monitors the athletic program's annual budgetRequisitions program supplies and equipmentSupervises and is responsible for all ticket sales and fundraising activities for the athletic program, and be responsible for the proper handling of fundsArranges all details of visiting teams' needs as appropriateArranges field and gym practice schedules according to District Policy and proceduresVerifies the physical examination of all athletes prior to the beginning of each seasonMaintains records on the results of all school athletic contests and provide appropriate game results and athletic information to the mediaDirect in-school, extracurricular program designed to foster support for the athletic teams and school spirit among non-participantsPlans with the principals, and supervises an annual recognition program for school athletesActs as liaison to all Athletic Booster GroupsActs as school district liaison to the town Recreation Departments within the district.Organizes parent and student information program regarding NCAA and NHIAA requirementsPerforms other job-related duties as requiredPlease include a cover letter, resume, transcripts, certification information, and 3 recent letters of recommendation.EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER: The Contoocook Valley School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
