Duties
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup
- Clean bathroom
- Operate dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Support heavy lifting tasks related to moving supplies or equipment in accordance with manual handling safety guidelines
- Follow strict sanitation protocols to ensure compliance with health regulations and prevent cross-contamination
- Maintain organized storage of clean items and ensure proper disposal of waste to uphold kitchen hygiene standards
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation procedures
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers and basic cleaning tools
- Strong attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and adhering to health standards
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting the overall kitchen operation
- Basic knife skills or familiarity with food handling practices is a plus but not mandatory
