We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Studer Grinder Operator to join our client’s team located in Spartanburg, SC.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in setting up and operating CNC cylindrical shaft grinding machines, with a strong focus on quality, precision, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC, Studer cylindrical grinding machines
- Interpret complex blueprints and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances
- Conduct in-process inspections and quality checks using air gages, micrometers, calipers, height stands, and other precision measuring tools
- Troubleshoot and make adjustments to maintain quality and productivity
- Follow SOPs, RAMs and Health & Safety rules for machining operations
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following safety and quality standards
- Collaborate with the engineering and quality team on process improvements and part evaluations
Required Experience
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience operating Studer or similar CNC cylindrical grinding machines
- Experience using operating software WinMax or similar
- Deep understanding of grinding theory, tool selection, and wheel dressing
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, stage drawings, and job orders
- Experience machining parts to extremely tight tolerances (+/- .0001")
- GD&T interpretation skills
- Proficient using measuring instruments, air gages, micrometers, calipers, height stands etc.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with custom, low-volume, or high-mix part runs is a plus
Hours: 1st Shift 4:00 AM – 2:10 PM Monday-Thursday
Pay: $24–27 depending on experience
